Description

Once called “Healing Waters” by the Mayaca Indians. This park offers swimming area, Fountain of Youth Boat Tour and Kayak & Canoe Rentals. The popular Old Sugar Mill Pancake House, located in a 100-year-old replica of the 1830s sugar mill, features cook-your-own pancakes at the table and freshly made bread and cookies.

Enjoy a 50-minute Fountain of Youth Boat tour through De Leon Springs State Park and Lake Woodruff National Wildlife Refuge. Piloted by Captain Frank, the boat takes comfortable passengers on a relaxing trip filled with extraordinary close-contact experiences with the local wildlife. Our tour departs from De Leon Springs State Park and travels west through Spring Garden Creek. Take in iconic views of Spring Garden Lake, Jones Island, and the Lake Woodruff National Wildlife Refuge. The tour will be approximately 50 minutes in duration and will include narration on the history and natural resources of our waterway. The Fountain of Youth Boat Tour departs at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m., Noon, and 1 p.m., and journeys through De Leon Springs State Park and Lake Woodruff National Wildlife Refuge.

  • De Leon Springs is a very popular park. Lines to enter the park can be long in the early morning and at peak times. Plan to arrive more than 1 hour early to ensure you make your tour.
  • If you plan on eating at the Old Sugar Mill, make sure to get your name on the list before boarding to decrease your wait time on shore.
  • What to bring: Binoculars, a camera, sunglasses/hat (the boat is totally shaded, but sun exposure varies with the movement of the boat) and bug spray.
